چکیده

The problem of water scarcity and clean in sub-Saharan Africa is a growing concern. This study aims to quantify the quality on temporal scale Doorndraai dam site design possible management options. Here, an integrated approach using both in-situ measurements parameters remote sensing data was used derive index (WQI) inherent optical properties deduce factors governing seasonal annual variability. results show that all analyzed fall under permissible limit World Health Organization (WHO) for drinking water, except turbidity. average value turbidity dry wet periods 12.52 3.39 NTU, respectively. WQI ranges from good excellent during season, poor season owing high values samples. Both sensing-based analysis shows last five years, suspended particulate matter (SPM) based Landsat-8 increased gradually area. Sentinel-2 derived modified normalized difference (MNDWI) decreasing trend area due encroachment. strong correlation between supports usefulness techniques resource management, especially data-scarce regions. Looking at spatio-temporal evolution, findings this will help local decision-makers sustainable plans dam.
